FROM ME TO YOU: TANGLED UP IN BLUE

Dylan’s classic love song attests to love’s ability to endure time, tribulations and yet for lovers to remain – through it all – delightfully tangled in each other.
Taking a tip from the folk troubadour, Shevaughan and Lewis chose various hues of blue to tie their wedding together.
Shevaughan explains: “I'm very lucky that my husband actually wanted input into the wedding and using the colour navy was actually his idea!”
“As we'd booked the Old School Bar and Kitchen at Mount Hawke as our wedding reception venue, we decided to use a bit of a school theme for the wedding. We discovered that both our school uniforms used to be navy, so thought it would be a lovely classic colour to use as well as complementing the theme. It also ties in well with lots of other colours, although we ended up using accents of taupe.”
The heady innocence and vibrant sense of fun of school days characterised Shevaughan and Lewis’s day.
Holly’s contribution? Something beautifully bespoke.
“As soon as I had my dress chosen I knew that I wanted a head-piece that pulled together both the navy and the taupe with a hint of sparkle,” explains Shevaughan, “That's when I knew that I wanted Holly to make something for me.”
Even if you’re not exactly sure of the look you want, Holly’s deep vein of creativity can inspire you.
The other beautiful benefit of bespoke? Individuality.
“I always like to have something different,” says Shevaughan, “Something that other people don't have. Sure, I could have just bought something off the shelf that a hundred other people could have bought, but I like individual...and I've loved all of Holly’s work.”
At Shevaughan’s consultation personal consultation time with Holly – which all bespoke clients can have face to face, or via Skype – she saw the sparks of creativity fly.
“I couldn't believe how quickly Holly came up with an idea once I told her my colour scheme: duck feathers, absolutely inspired!”
The gorgeous iridescence of these feathers – with hues of both taupe and navy – was set off with a dash of sparkle in the form of a vintage brooch.
Other creatives who collaborated to breathe life into Shevaughan’s vision complemented the bounty of blue brilliantly.
“In regards to the flowers, I used Loulabel in St. Agnes: I tried to keep as much of our purchases as local as possible. The nigella berries were Lou's suggestion as a way of pulling the colours together as at the end of summer it's tough to get dark blue flowers...luckily one of my favourite flowers – hydrangeas - had a long season too.”
One look at the pictures will see you too, blown away by both bespoke and blue.
