The Story of a Bespoke Bridal Headpiece

Hello everybody, today’s blog post features Lily and Ross Chapman’s magnificent wedding for which Holly made a bespoke bridal headpiece. Lily came to Holly knowing she wanted the signature birdcage vailing to compliment the vintage victory rolls in her gorgeous red hair, done by her sister who is a hairstylist at Number Eight Hairdressing. So together Holly and Lily designed this floral statement piece to suit their purple colour schemed Easter time wedding. Holly created interest in this headpiece by using a variety of different textures and materials such as paper and silk, adding delicate detailing with fresh water pearls and Swarovski jewels. At the end of this creative process the finished product was a glorious unique flower crown with a forty’s vibe and perfect for Lily’s special occasion.

A quote from the bride:

" I always knew I wanted Holly to make my headpiece, after seeing some of her work at wedding fairs, I just had to book an appointment.

The first meeting was so exciting getting to design the headpiece. I knew I wanted a birdcage veil and that was the only idea I had. Holly came up with the rest, she even managed to match the purple veil and flowers to the colour of the bridesmaid’s dresses. The pink peacock feather and opal brooch match perfectly too. On the big day itself I couldn't wait to finish getting ready to see the whole outfit together, the headpiece definitely is the perfect fit for the look I wanted and it was so comfortable and light to wear. Everyone said how amazing it was! "
