Day Workshop at Boconnac Estate - 30th September

Millinery skills making shapes in sinamay

A day retreat in collaboration with Lily Boo workshops.

About the day: Do you love the idea of making your own fascinator but don’t know where to start?  Professional milliner Holly Young will guide you through the stages of making a small wired cocktail hat base and decorating it with sinamay trims.
We will start the day by exploring some of the grounds of Boconnoc to get some inspiration for the shapes you wish to make and how nature can influence this.
You will then learn how to make this versatile fabric into, bows, petals and loops to expertly trim your fascinator.   You will acquire the foundational millinery skills you need to expand on this creative and rewarding hobby.   Sinamay, veiling, wire and threads will be provided but feel free to bring any thing along that you would like to incorporate into your creation such as an old brooch, fabric flower or feathers.
This day includes refreshments and lunch.

10am Till 4.00pm on 30th September 2026
