It’s always wonderful for me to step outside of the studio and look up from the sewing, beading, sketching and crafting, so I love it when it’s photo shoot day and everything comes together.
For my new collection, I had the opportunity to collaborate with photographer Olivia Bossert. I’ve followed Olivia for quite a while so it’s been great to get to know her better as she put me at ease immediately behind the camera and really got a grasp of the collection and what it represents.
This blog is a little behind-the-scenes peek at our photo shoot featuring hair and make up make-up by Ione Kutz, florisrt by Amanda Taffinder and the talented models Zoe and Holly
We chose the laid back but stunning Rosevine Hotel as our location so we could do a mix of inside shots combined with outdoor garden and beach images because the collection is mainly inspired by the sea and the Cornish coast. As well as making use of t he gorgeous hotel grounds, we headed to nearby Porthcurnik Beach (of The Hidden Hut fame) in order to capture that sea spirit and really show the pieces off in natural light.
I was on hand to provide the headpieces and the styling but overall, I just let Olivia do her thing and follow the natural flow of what felt right on the day, capturing that elegant yet effortless style that my brand is known for, simple yet fun and carefree, as I imagine the type of beach bride who wears these pieces will be.
I can’t wait to show you the results of the shoot at the end of the month and to unveil the full collection but for now, here is a sneak peek of the collection and of Olivia working her magic…
