Mexican painter Frida Kahlo 1907-1954 has been an accidental style icon for many years.
Most recently (especially with with this year's heat waive) inspiring floral festival headdresses and summer braids and bandeaus.
Her colourful clothing and paintings are bold and fearless. I think she appeals to our emotions because her paintings are so raw and truthful, expressing her pain and passions of life in full vivid colour.
I know I have been inspired by her and will never tire of finding out more about this incredible woman. I'm planning on making a visit to the V&A exhibition! Open now untill 4th November, details of which cab be found on the V&A website. Watch the beautiful video trailer to the exhibition at the bottom of this post.
